Raïssas Bump is an artist born in the North East who is currently working in the San Francisco. She received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2003. Since graduation she has had her own studio making jewelry and knitwear and has exhibited nationally. She views her studio practice as one of collaboration, joining materials and techniques of the clothing and jewelry she is making. Raïssas work is fueled by a direct, tactile response to the contrasting materials of metal and fiber, loving them each for their unique qualities such as strength, flexibility, or color.
Both creating and teaching jewelry and knitwear achieves Raïssas goal of helping others to gain beauty, distinction and confidence in their self-expression. This is her fuel for life. When you wear her jewelry or knitwear you radiate an independent sense of style and strength that transitions beautifully from day to night.http://raissabump.com/
